Thank You! We’ve Fed 30,000 People in Kenya
Since January 2008 up until today, DAI Kenya has - almost on a weekly basis - distributed food to poor displaced families, orphans and HIV positive people - in total approximately 30,000 - in the slum of Kibera in Nairobi. These people were hit hard by the outbreak of the post-electoral violence that broke our in December 2007. Many lost their homes, livelihoods and assets.
Thanks to your generous support, DAI was and is able to support the people with both blankets and food such as maize flour, oil and beans. The last food distribution will take place in the beginning of May.

Now, the situation in Kibera and in other places of Kenya seems to be almost back to normal. Those who have houses to return to can do that - but many have lost close to everything. And - many still remain in refugee camps.

Now, the long road of rehabilitation begins: the rebuilding of houses, lives and livelihoods. Together with our local partners, DAI will - with your support - take active action in this.
