Food Distribution in Ethiopia

-"In June and July, we sold all our animals - and after that - everything we had" says Nunnu Alamanya, a 28 year old mother of six. "We had to do it in order to get food. Now we have nothing left to eat and nothing to buy food for either. I can only thank Dorcas and Meserete Kristos (Dorcas' local partnerorganisation)  for the food you give us. Now I and my children can eat again. We have gone hungry for so long."

Nunnu Alamanya and her husband are as many people in the district of Jeldu, farmers and depend on their crops for food. The total failure of the seasonal rain (the Belg rain) earlier this year has resulted in a failed harvest in great parts of Ethiopia.

Some 300 people (out of the 23,600 assisted monthly in the project) received food on September 24, when the first food distribution in the project took place. Read more about the project here!

With YOUR help, Dorcas continues to assist the victims of the food insecurity in Ethiopia - while working for development for the whole nation.
