Achievements Until Now:
200 farmer families in the mountains and 250 farming families from the lowlands of Korca have been provided with technical assistance and material support for agriculture development. As a result, their income has grown 30-50 % compared to the income before the project. In Tropoja, 80 farmers have increased their crop production with 50-80%. 70 farmers of Bujan commune have increased their animal production with 30-50%.
Target Group:
8 mountain villages in two communes and 10 low land villages in six communes in Korca region. At least 500 farmer families have benefited directly from the program. 150 farmers of Valbona village and 50 farmers of Bujan, Tropoje have benefited from the project.
Problem Program Addresses:
Lack of technical knowledge of farmers in agriculture, lack of quality materials and lack of market information which results in low agricultural production and low income.
Purpose:
To improve the social and economical situation of farmer families in the Korca region through the sustainable agriculture development. To assist farmer families in their profession in order for them to have improved living standards.
Main Activities:
Provision of technical knowledge to farmers through different trainings. Exchange experiences among farmers and different agricultural institutions. Farm experiments and demonstrations in order to provide farmers with best results in a practical way.
