Operation Mobilization
Geographical Area:
Moldova - Northern, Central and Southern regions
Start sector:
2002
Achievements Until Now:
Currently 5 strategic partners are involved in capacity building which takes form of coaching, trainings (human resource management, project cycle management, grant application, Diaconia, participatory development, lobby and advocacy etc), advisory on existing funding opportunities, updating of beneficiary selection criteria, baseline information, as well as exchange program with other partners. This has resulted in growth of partners in aspects of human resources, monitoring and implementation of projects and better service delivery to beneficiaries.
Problem Program Addresses:
Capacity building needs for the 5 partners in Moldova was assessed and gaps were identified in human resources (poor staff bio-data, lack of HR manuals), organizational and institutional developments (lack of fundraising plans, poor beneficiary participation, gender etc) that are necessary for partners to increase the impact among beneficiaries. The existing universities and colleges do not offer sufficient training in NGO management but mostly focuses on business administration. Recently, some courses on social assistance and social management have been introduced to fill this gap. There exist resource centers and NGO alliances in Moldova that offer trainings, however they are mostly accessible to organizations located in the capital of the country. As a result DAI capacity building remains critical in empowering the partner organizations.
Purpose:
To equip partner capacities in human resource, organizational and institutional development.
Main Activities:
Capacity building involves training, coaching by the field office staff, exchange program among partners working in similar sectors and advisory services especially on policies etc.
