Project/Sector Name:
Agricultural (Family) Development
Partner(s):
CE Pro Chisto et Ecclesia
Geographical Area:
Tg-Mures/Salaj/Gherla
Start Sector:
2004
Achievements Until Now:
Families have been successfully supported in the two counties: Salaj and Mures. Families have been challenged to think and act in a responsible and long term planning approach. More than 400 families are assisted and trained in livestock husbandry to become economically sustainable and reintegrated in their own communities and society.
Target Group:
To assist and support 460 farmers on annual basis in two counties Mures and Salaj, who are able to care for animals (pigs, rabbits, chicken) or work on the field, and want to become more economically sustainable. Part of these farmers come from the Family Care Social Aid project and from local minority (gipsy) communities, that need help and assistance to improve their living conditions.
Problem Program Addresses:
Poverty at large, socially endangered, poor and not educated rural family households.
Main Activities:
Farmers will be motivated and assisted to become more economically sustainable. Farmers can choose to start with growing pigs, or chickens or be trained in greenhouse work. Building greenhouses. We will start with micro finance from 2012 onwards.
