Lord's Army Gherla
CE-Pro Christo et Ecclesia- Tg Mures
Betania Oradea
Christian Foundation Diakonia
Geographical Area:
Transylvania, Romania
Start Sector:
2000
Achievements Until Now:
4 strategic partners have made improvements in their organizational capacity development and sustainable project management. All these partners have clear staff contracts and 50% of them have financial systems in place, while 75% are involved in networking with other like-minded organizations for learning and linking.
Target Group:
Capacity building program targets partners organization' leadership and staff. This involves developing their organizational capacity (human resource management; financial management, board and governance; public relations, program planning and management; reporting, sustainability, etc.). In addition, DAI Romania is actively seeking for opportunities of participating in national and regional networks for strengthening the non-governmental sector.
Problem Program Addresses:
The NGO sector in Romania is relatively weak owing to 40 years of communism regime. All DAI's partners are newly created organizations (after 1990) and need all the assistance in developing their capacity in aspects of human resources, organizational as well as institutional development. Specific challenges are noted in low beneficiary participation in planning and implementation of projects, financial sustainability related to lack of fundraising strategy, PR and marketing, as well as lack of lobby and advocacy among others.
Purpose:
Improve the quality of DAI partners and increased exchange and cooperation between partners.
Main Activities:
Organizing trainings in relevant needs identified through joint DAI and partner assessments. These trainings are followed by one-on-one coaching, as well as networking with the partners to exchange knowledge and experience.
