Achievements Until Now:
A community training center is built and equipped on the outskirts of the growing city of Wau. During the first half of 2011 More than 100 people have received skills training in sewing, horticulture production and additional motivational and business trainings. Besides that a savings scheme is set up and several new trainings on the area of brick-making, bakery and chicken farming are planned. The training centre is also the home of the Dorcas guesthouse which generates income to help sustain the training centre.

Wau: The purpose of this project is to serve the poor in Wau especially the mass roaming young people aging from 16 to 40 years old who do not have job opportunities in Wau. They will be motivated and equipped to find a job or to start their own income generating activity.
Problem Program Addresses:
Wau: High unemployment rate in the region of Wau; low agriculture production in this region; poor health care and poor health education including HIV/Aids; and no coherence in the society due to the long civil war in the country.
Purpose:
To build the skills of unemployed poor men and women and to create employment and business opportunities to stimulate the local economy and to provide sustainable income for the poor.
Main Activities:
Wau: Build and equip a Vocational Training Centre, provide vocational training, motivational trainings, business training. Support starting up businesses with advice and a savings and credit scheme, introduce new innovative products to stimulate small business development in Wau. |
