Achievements Until Now:
Approximately 25,000 families have received annual material aid as clothes, shoes, household materials, detergent, household equipment etc. Schools and kindergartens have received school furniture; other school equipment; Medical centres and hospitals have received equipment, medicine, and bandage. Numerous social and charity organisations, soup kitchens, church ministries and rehabilitation centres have been assisted with food, equipment, furniture, detergents and other essential goods. On average, 250-300 tons of goods were distributed annually.
Target Group:
Partner Organizations distribute the materials under beneficiaries selected based on criteria like income.The poorest families of the communities are helped with essential goods for everyday life. The social, medical and educational centres of the targeted locations will improve.
Problem Program Addresses:
Ukraine is living an economical decline and the consequences can be seen on all levels of society: salaries are not always paid, pensions and maintenance allowances are delayed; the social problems are growing in society and the level of unemployment is growing. The social state institutions ‑ including the health care ‑ suffers from chronic lack of finance. Therefore, the needs of the poor and socially neglected are not adequately met. The majority of the population lives under the poverty-line. The most vulnerable groups include the elderly, invalids and large families. The number of homeless people and street children has grown significantly. Local authorities are not able to take care of the socially neglected people.
Purpose:
To improve living-conditions of the needy people and improve the quality of services provided to them by the local medical, social and educational centres. Support local Christian churches and organisations in serving the needy in their area.
Main Activities:
Logistics: receiving trucks with goods, providing the necessary documents and permission. Selecting distributing partners and co-operating with them. Monitoring the distribution of the goods. Assessing the needs of local communities as far as needs of the poorest families and prioritized needs of local medical centres, social and educational institutions. Working close with local Christian churches and organisations in reaching the poorest of the area and supporting their services among them. |
